Installation guide

Up and running in 5 minutes.

Follow these steps to install, configure, and launch your loyalty program.

1Install the app

  1. Open SaleSurprise on the Shopify App Store.
  2. Click Install to start the authorization process.
  3. Review the permissions and select Install app to grant access to your store.
Permissions Required: Manage orders & customers, Write discount codes & price rules, Access store settings for theme setup.

2Set Up Your Program

  1. Select Your Plan: Choose a plan that fits your volume. Starter plan includes a 7-day free trial.
  2. Initialize Default Campaign: Click "Activate Campaign" to let SaleSurprise start tracking orders and issuing rewards automatically.
  3. Verify Data Sync: Our system registers webhooks instantly. You'll see "Connected" status on your dashboard.
Note: Only orders placed after activation will be tracked for loyalty coins.

3Customize Your 7 Tiers

  1. Navigate to the Settings tab in your SaleSurprise dashboard.
  2. Set Rarity & Values: Define the probability and discount percentage for each of the 7 Mystery Tiers.
  3. Add Custom Labels: Give each tier a unique name (e.g., "Silver Spark", "Diamond Legend") to match your brand's voice.
✨ Pro Tip: Try making your top tier (1% or 5% rarity) have a significantly higher discount value to drive excitement and repeated orders!

4Add to Your Storefront

  1. Click the "Go to Theme Editor" button on your dashboard or navigate to Online Store > Themes > Customize.
  2. On the left sidebar, click the App Embeds icon. Toggle "SaleSurprise Widget" to ON.
  3. Click the Save button in the top right corner of the Shopify theme editor.

The loyalty wallet is now active on your customer account and cart pages.

5Test Your Setup

  1. Create or log in to a customer account on your storefront.
  2. Navigate to the account page or add an item to the cart. You should see the SaleSurprise widget.
  3. Verify you can see the floating loyalty badge or inline widget, and any mystery coins.

Troubleshooting

Widget not updating?

  • Ensure "App Embed" is toggled ON in Shopify Theme Editor.
  • Clear your browser cache and refresh the storefront.
  • Verify the app is installed and authorized.

Coins not issuing?

  • Check if your Campaign is active on the Dashboard.
  • Verify your budget cap hasn't been reached.
  • Wait up to 1 minute for Shopify webhooks to process.
